Ohio Leadership Development Event (LDE) Greenhand FFA Practice Test

Henry C. Groseclose is recognized as the founder of the National FFA Organization. He played a pivotal role in establishing the organization in 1928 as a means to provide agricultural education and leadership opportunities for students in rural communities. Groseclose, along with a group of other educators and agricultural leaders, decided to create an organization that would help foster leadership skills, patriotism, and vocational education among young people interested in agriculture.

This foundation laid the groundwork for what would become a national organization, promoting agricultural education and career readiness in the United States. The emphasis on leadership development and personal growth continues to be central to the FFA mission today. Other historical figures mentioned, while significant in their contributions to agriculture and education, were not directly involved in the founding of the National FFA Organization.
